- The goal is to halve the proportion of people living on less than 1 USD a day by 2015
 

- Instead of using the 1 USD of expenditure per day benchmark, Indonesia defines poor people as people who eat less than 2,1000 calories of food per day or earn 152,847 Rp. ($16.8) per month
 

- The poverty figure would increase to 80 million if they were to use the international benchmark
 

- The government is investing 268 billion Rp. ($29.2 million) in programs to reduce poverty
